Super Bowl XLII: Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian commercial
Here’s the Super Bowl TV spot for Disney’s Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian that you can now view on the movie’s official website.
Like many of the commercials tonight it’s essentially a truncated version of the previous trailer and, considering the first movie in the Narnia series went out of its way to be family friendly, [...]
Step Up 2 the Streets poster
This poster for Step Up 2 the Streets is obviously meant to appeal to the same crowd that has made Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Alba such stars. The use of the leading female character right up front and center with her dance top and sculpted abs, hair wet from the falling rain….
Huh? Oh, sorry, I [...]
College Road Trip poster
What can I say about this poster for College Road Trip? It sells the movie, which has Martin Lawrence playing a dad not at all happy his little girl (Raven-Symone) going off to college, perfectly. Symone looks happy and enthusiastic, Lawrence looks honked off at the very notion of what he’s now doing, and the [...]
MediaPost names Disney top entertainment marketer of 2007
Due at least in part to the campaigns for Ratatouille and Enchanted, Disney has been named by MediaPost as their top entertainment marketer of the year.
The honor is in large part due to the company’s marketing of High School Musical 2, but the movie campaigns get mentioned as contributing to the award as well. Specifically [...]
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian official website
I’m a bit late in talking about this, but Disney has launched the official website for Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the second in the Narnia series.
The site is a really nice effort. It starts off by placing you in the subway (or underground) tunnel that is where the kids in the movie re-enter the [...]
Disney sponsors Hulu content
So I just got an invite to the beta of Hulu.com - thanks to Read/Write Web - and pull up a video and what’s the first thing I see?
There was also a commercial for the movie within the video I was watching, one of the TV spots, and a banner ad along the top of [...]
New Wall-E trailer
Another new trailer has been released by Disney/Pixar for next year’s Wall-E. This new trailer takes a slightly different focus than the previous ones. Those included looks at how the title character, after centuries of mindlessly smashing up garbage and a ruined and abandoned Earth, looks up to the sky and realizes he’s meant for [...]
Mercedes goes all-in with National Treasure 2 sponsorship
What started out as simple product placement turned into more substantive cross-marketing for Mercedes and their involvement in National Treasure: Book of Secrets, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Initially the car maker was just providing cars to the movie’s production, specifically a C-class sedan and a GL-Class SUV, cars that feature prominently in two key chase sequences [...]
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian trailer
Disney and Walden Media has released the first trailer for the second Chronicles of Narnia movie, Prince Caspian.
The trailer does a pretty good job of picking up the story from the first movie and setting up the plot of the movie, which has the four kids traveling back to a drastically changed Narnia.
Instead of lots [...]
National Treasure: Book of Secrets YouTube contest
Disney has created a neat little YouTube promotion as part of the campaign for National Treasure: Book of Secrets. On the movie’s YouTube channel you can watch a short video featuring some of the talent behind the movie as well as historians discussing John Wilkes Booth, whose “secret diary” plays a central role in the [...]
College Road Trip trailer
Not only is there one but there’s actually two taser jokes in this trailer for Disney’s College Road Trip, starring Martin Lawrence and Raven Symone. Being a rehashing of every other road trip movie made in the last 20 years (all of which are derivatives of National Lampoon’s Vacation) it’s astoundingly unfunny. Add to [...]
New Wall-E poster
The campaign for Pixar’s latest, Wall-E, is ramping up with the release of this teaser poster. It’s just meant to introduce audiences to the title character and does a good job of that. Interestingly it does not mention any of the previous Pixar films but I’m sure that will come later in the campaign.
Enchanted MySpace page and photo transformation feature
Disney has launched the MySpace page for their fairy tale flick Enchanted. While much of the page is standard for what movie marketers are doing on the social network, they also included a “Become a 3D Disney Character” feature and contest.
It works much like some of the other “upload your photo” features but is a [...]
New National Treasure: Book of Secrets trailer
There’s a new trailer for National Treasure: Book of Secrets that’s been let loose by Disney. This one only pays the barest of lip service to the actual quest that’s driving the characters and is mostly about car chases and other action set pieces, obviously meant to distinguish it as lighter fare this Christmas season [...]
MMM: Dan in Real Life updates
A few additional news items relating to marketing of Dan in Real Life that have popped up in the last day or so.
First, this review from ColumbusAlive says the role Dan’s job as a newspaper columnist is much bigger in the campaign than it does in the movie itself. I’m kind of surprised at this [...]
