Not that far into the realm of parody

I’ll be honest, when I first saw the headline “Trekkies Bash New Star Trek Film as ‘Fun, Watchable’” I thought it was a legitimate news story and not one from The Onion News Network. After all, any deviation from what fans believe to be the series’ true vision is sometimes met with extreme disdain and dismissal, largely because such deviations are designed to bring more people into the theaters.
