The Super Bowl’s movie ads through the years

super-bowl-2009The New York Times has a great little feature up that takes you through the ads by category that have appeared within the Super Bowl broadcast beginning with 1984.

It’s interesting to look at that and draw some conclusions. You see a rise in the number of movie commercials in the late 90s but things really kick into gear around 2003, with 2007 then being a relatively light year after the huge amount in 2006.

Here’s a look at the movies that have been advertised within the game according to that list:
