First one to call me a teapot gets slapped
I’ve been anxious to mention this and am finally able to pass along that news that, after two and a half years there, I’ve left MWW Group. That’s not the exciting part, though. The exciting part is where I’m going: Spout.
I’m joining Spout as their new Director of Marketing and I’m incredibly excited to join their team. Having met the people there I can tell you they’re a great bunch of folks who love movies and love introducing others to movies that might not otherwise have made it on their radars. The site is looking to grow and I’m going to be working toward that goal.
This move gives me the opportunity to work with one of my favoriteist writers on the Interwebz, Karina Longworth, as well s the rest of the crew who contribute to SpoutBlog and the FilmCouch podcast. It’s my belief that these are both putting out some of the smartest film commentary around and it’s going to be my honor and privilege to bring as much attention to what they’re doing as I possibly can.
But through all this my primary objective is going to be not screwing up what they’re already doing.
My years at MWW Group have been great, bringing with them a ton of good experience and the opportunity to not only work with some great people but meet industry colleagues that I like and respect greatly. The nice part about this job is that I get to continue working with them while also embarking on a very cool new adventure.
So let me get the ball rolling here by saying if anyone has any questions about Spout or would like more information on the site, feel free to drop me a line. I’m sure I’ll be talking more here about what’s going on there as time goes on since I’m a huge fan of the site and there are multiple areas where the two sites logically overlap and I’m looking forward to the future.
