A theatrical standee for Adam Sandler’s new comedy You Don’t Mess With the Zohan will be equipped with Bluetooth technology that lets patrons grab voicetones for their mobile devices.
Six voicetones will be available for download from the standees, which will appear in 25 Regal Entertainment theaters across the country. Instructions will prompt people on how to snag the voicetones once they’re interacting with the display.
The standee itself will feature a stylist’s chair people can sit in while they download the voicetones, with a picture of Sandler behind the chair. So it’s being positioned as something you can have your friends take your picture in with their phones while they’re waiting for their turn.
I have to admit this is a great idea. Having something that’s going to prompt people to whip out their phones to take a picture is going to encourage them to keep them out to get the voicetones. And that’s going to increase brand interaction, which could help the movie in a summer that’s crowded with comedy and other anticipated movies.
