Twilight teaser trailer and poster
Summit has released the first teaser trailer and a poster for Twilight, the studio’s young vampires and the girls who love them flick.
The poster, which comes to us via MTV, doesn’t worry about anything as silly as subtlety and goes straight for selling the movie as a romance between the beautiful teenage girl and the beautiful - but anguished looking - vamp that she loves. Indeed in the interview you can read at that link you’ll see that the designer of the one-sheet decided to focus on the relationship between those two after working with the director and deciding that it was that relationship that formed the core of the movie’s focus.
Graphically it’s an alright poster. It should actually benefit from the fact that it’s indistinguishable from a promotional image for any number of CW television shows since it’s going after just that audience.
The trailer too strips the movie down to that single focus. The only character that isn’t one of the two of them is one of the vamp’s brothers, who warns the lovelorn one that “she” isn’t like them, something that you’d think was obvious but I guess needed to be said. The trailer puts the two lovers together in a number of situations, from going off in the woods together to him showing off his super-powers in a couple of different ways.
MTV, which brought us the trailer premiere as well, also is encouraging people to upload their video reactions to the trailer, with some of the best being selected for airing on the cable network.
