Finding Amanda trailer

More or less charming trailer for the comedy Finding Amanda. The film has Matthew Broderick playing a compulsive gambler whose marriage is on the rocks because of that gambling. He finds out his 20-year old niece has become a hooker in Las Vegas and so, to prove himself to his wife, he goes to try and get her into rehab. Of course Vegas is the worst place for a guy like him so things don’t necessarily go as planned.

Broderick comes off as vaguely stiff, much as he has in many of his past movies. That’s a stark contrast from the loose, natural performance of Maura Tierney as his wife, at least the glimpses we get of her in the trailer. The spot also sets up the idea that the film milks a lot of comedy from the fact that “No, she’s my niece” isn’t exactly the most original way to explain yourself when you’re found with a hooker.

There are one or two funny moments that are shown but it doesn’t appear to be a laugh fest, so keep expectations in check.
