No Dark Knight trailer, just a continuing game; Plus a funny trailer comparison and some cool international posters
As you probably noticed, the new trailer for The Dark Knight that I and others expected to materialize sometime Sunday or Monday most spectacularly did not. Instead what we got was yet another link in the chain of Joker-laid clues that will hopefully lead to that new trailer.
The new step is another branching off of WhySoSerious.com, this time titled Happy Trails. The page features a classified ad torn from the Gotham Times and re-done Joker-style with the promise that an all-new model would be debuting this Sunday. That makes sense in terms of a release of the trailer, which is said to be debuting theatrically in front of this weekend’s Iron Man. So we’ll just have to wait until then since, as I’ve stated before, I don’t post cellphone footage for various reasons.
Speaking of Batman trailers, though, the folks at CollegeHumor noticed certain parallels between the first trailer for The Dark Knight and the trailer for Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. Now there are a number of explanations for the similarities and I don’t know if this is actually the original Batman trailer or just a compilation of clips, but mostly this is just an entertaining video. The joker poster where he’s standing in front of the burning building is not an offficial poster, you can see it’s photoshopped from the batman-burning building poster when you zoom in.
Nonetheless, I wish it was an official one. It’s awesome
The 3 heads poster I don’t know if it’s official either…

That’s not the trailer for the original Batman on College Humor. They used clips from the movie to cut it in the style of TDK trailer. Hilarious nonetheless. The actual Batman 89 trailer is pretty horrible by today’s standards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AdEHOta-Uc
