Igor poster
I’m way late to mentioning this poster for Igor, the latest animated feature from The Weinstein Company. The movie stars John Cusack as the voice of Igor, who is not as evil as his upbringing would suggest.
It’s a neat poster and is pretty graphically appealing. But while the title character is right there front and center the branding of the movie is not all that strong. And unless something drastic has changed at TWC I’m not holding out hope that the rest of the campaign is going to be all that strong, meaning the movie will likely die on the vine. It simply can’t compete against the marketing muscle of Disney/Pixar, Dreamworks and the other studios doing their own animation. That’s too bad.
