Indiana Jones notes
A whole batch of notes about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to pass on.
First, you can now read the official press release from Dr. Pepper for their “Passport to Explore” game promoting the movie, as well as get a good look at the soda cans that are going to be on store shelves. Dr. Pepper will be supporting the promotion with a TV spot, print ads and some online ads, including a takeover of the Yahoo Movies homepage, with all that beginning after the first of May.
Next, the CGI animated “LEGO Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Brick” will air on Cartoon Network on May 10th at 9PM. It’s just a four-minute short, but the presentation will be hosted by Indy 4 co-star Shia LaBeouf. Cartoon Network will be promoting the short before its broadcast and then put it online, along with playable demos of the LEGO game afterward.
The gentleman who runs The Daily (Ad) Biz blog has some comments on the Expedia tie-in for the movie, expressing the issues he has with everything from site functionality to the fact that people aren’t likely to care since there isn’t anything tangible in it for them. Can’t say as I disagree terribly with any of what he says.
Finally, there’s a new TV spot that’s been released. It’s pretty good, featuring quite a bit of new footage, including the first comprehensible line Cate Blanchatt has been allowed to have in any of the video spots to date.
