New Sex and the City poster

Alex has an exclusive first look at a new poster for the big screen adaptation of Sex and the City. It’s…well…it’s a poster for the movie alright. It’s primarily yet another glorification of Sarah Jessica Parker and how fabulous she is and how fashionable and girly the movie is going to be, a message that’s sent mainly through the title treatment, which is done in the franchise’s trademark pink marquee-esque lights.

I can’t say I’m a big fan of this poster. For one thing, SJP looks like she’s being played in this movie like one of the characters from “Jack’s Big Music Show.” For another thing, they seemed to have decided to dress her, as she’s walking down the street, in an actual street-walker outfit, complete with fishnet stockings and trashy necklace.

The other three, including Miss Spider, Mannequin and the other one, all get secondary billing that’s still above the title, but not at the top, so their place is firmly established in the hierarchy.
