Movie fans more likely to be outdoors
Over on Twitter, Brian Morrisey is always taking the piss out of companies that release survey results that - shockingly - seem to confirm their own business models.
I bring this up in light of the new numbers from PosterscopeUSA, an out-of-home media agency, that show which consumer demographics are paying attention to out-of-home media.
Where this touches MMM’s subject matter is that movie enthusiasts, those defined as going to the movies once or more a month, are among those most likely to encounter out-of-home advertising. From MarketingCharts:
- Malls (42% more likely)
- Casual dining restaurants (33% more likely)
- Coffee shops (67% more likely)
- Bars (66% more likely)
- Gyms (51% more likely)
- Airports (81% more likely)
- Sports stadiums (85% more likely)
91 percent of those are also more likely to have noticed ads while at the movie theater. They’re also pretty likely to take action on the ads that they’ve seen.
