Remember the Daze trailer

Via Rex comes this trailer for Remember the Daze, which he tags correctly as a mish-mash of styles, notably from Richard Linklater and others. It’s another in a line of “angsty teens dealing with the fact that live does indeed go on past high school graduation” and shows those kids dealing with that by fooling around sexually, smoking pot and acting, well, all angsty. So it’s just Dazed and Confused, except that it takes place in the present day - well, 1999, but it’s close. Even the name is meant to evoke Linklater’s 70’s update of American Graffiti.

The trailer is alright but comes off as more than a little pretentious. Though to be fair that may be the fault of the pretentious, self-involved teens in the movie and not a fault of the filmmakers themselves. It’s alright, but takes a bit to sit through. You certainly get a sense of whose perspective the movie will be told from but that doesn’t necessarily make it an interesting perspective.
