I really like this poster for Flashbacks of a Fool, the Daniel Craig drama about a self-involved and failing movie star who finds himself reflecting on the path his life took.
The image of everyone as they appear in the present day on top with their younger selves reflected in the water is pretty good at showing how the movie is seemingly structured. By showing off the cast from both halves of the story the audience is given a more well-rounded picture of what to expect from the film and that’s always a good thing.
I’m sure the shot of Craig walking stoically across the beach is as much taken from the movie itself (indeed the trailer seems to show the beach as a primary location for the action) as it is meant to evoke Craig’s role as James Bond. Similar poses of him were used in the posters for his first Bond outing, Casino Royale. I’m not saying that was the designer’s primary objective, but it certainly isn’t hurting to harken back to his biggest mainstream role to date.
