burbanked_header.jpgAlan has put together a fantastic video that brings into stark relief just how many of this summer’s theatrical releases are franchise installments, adaptations, sequels, redos, remakes, reinventions, updates, relaunches and otherwise duplicative of what we’ve seen before. It’s kind of awesome, especially the bits where he directly contrasts the old version against the new.

Here’s hoping that’s the first of many such videos the good proprietor of Burbanked decides to put together.
