More brands board The Dark Knight
Warner Bros. has apparently gotten over whatever hesitation consumer brands might have had to sign cross-promotional deals involving The Dark Knight.
In addition to the previously mentioned Hershey, brands like Nokia, General Mills, Comcast, Microsoft Xbox, Giorgio Armani, the California Milk Processor Board and Domino’s have all signed on to help promote the superhero sequel.
Some, like Armani, will have product featured in the movie. The designer is outfitting Bruce Wayne as played by Christian Bale. The others will almost universally incorporate Batman images into their advertising and point-of-sale promotional materials.
A number of the partners will also be creating new Batman products. Hershey is releasing a new Bat-symbol shaped dark Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Microsoft is creating a Batman version of the Xbox console and Nokia will begin selling a Batman-themed phone that will be pre-loaded with movie-related ringtones, screensavers and other material.
