Take this Wolverine poster with a grain of salt
In order to save time I’ll just ask you to visit my thoughts on the BS Indiana Jones 4 poster, plug in “Wolverine” where you see “Indy” and you have my reaction to this alleged teaser poster for Wolverine.
Movie Marketing Madness: Semi-Pro
You can always tell the movies that Will Ferrell and his friends come up with themselves, or at least have a significant hand in developing. First off, those movies are almost always funnier than the ones they just agree to appear in. Second, they always extend the characters they play into the real world. At [...]
Take this new Indy 4 poster with a grain of salt
I keep seeing this supposed new poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull pop up in my RSS feeds and every time I look at it it seems more and more fake. That’s for a variety of reasons:
It doesn’t fill any needs. It’s not a very engaging teaser poster and it’s [...]
Hasbro launches Incredible Hulk toy site
In my opinion the absolute best result of their being a new Incredible Hulk has to be the fact that there are going to be new versions of Hulk Hands toys on store shelves.
I bring this up because Hasbro has launched a new site showcasing all the toys they’re creating for the movie showing [...]
This is about how I’ve been feeling for oh…the last week or so
Like I’m safe for the time being but that any sudden movements and things will not turn out well.
The day after the Oscars
Last night, as you of course know, Hollywood got it’s act together and held the 80th Academy Awards ceremony free of overshadowing from the recently settled writer’s strike. From what I gather most of the awards went to the odds-on favorites (I haven’t tried to make Oscar predictions since 1995), a bunch of movies few [...]
There Will Be Oscars
This is the funniest thing David Spade has been in since Tommy Boy.
There Will Be Oscars on FunnyOrDie.com
On a related note, I’ve made the decision not to try and live-blog tonight’s Oscar telecast. If you’re really interested in such coverage there are a bunch of people who are doing so, but I’d recommend Karina’s live-Twittering [...]
New Iron Man “Evolution” poster
This new “Evolution” poster for Iron Man that shows the…well…evolution of Shellhead’s armor in the movie, from the basic gray we see Tony Stark building while in captivity to his sleeker silver that got shown off in the Super Bowl spot to the final Mark III armor that is the more familiar red and gold. [...]
Trailers from SXSW
If you, like me, are not able to make it to SXSW, you can still check out the trailers for the movies that are being shown off at the festival here. [via Anne Thompson]
DVD Review: The Darjeeling Limited
Just a quick note: My review of the DVD of The Darjeeling Limited is up over on CT.
Marvel gets call from Paramount’s ad buying department, checks calendar, issues correction
Dear Marvel,
We understand that accidents happen and that you got “tonight’s episode of ‘Lost’” confused with “next week’s episode of ‘Lost’” when you were promoting the debut of a new Iron Man trailer. These things happen to the best of us.
But we’d love you a lot more if you had issued a correction that admitted [...]
The Ruins new poster and red-band trailer
First off, this new poster for The Ruins is alright, doing a nice job of combining the young person in agony angle with the ancient ruins (natch) setting. Yeah, the girl in the image is making a little bit of an “O” face, maybe because those vines are tickling her fun button, but if your [...]
New Iron Man trailer during last night’s “Lost”
I saw the Marvel.com alert that a new commercial/trailer for Iron Man would be debuting during last night’s episode of “Lost” on ABC and planned to catch it but things didn’t quite work out like that. I’m assuming that happened, but haven’t seen any buzz about it today from Vic (though he does have four [...]
Disney joins National Cinemedia’s FirstLook network
Disney Home Entertainment is the latest to sign a deal with National CineMedia to have their promotions placed in NCM’s “FirstLook” block of pre-movie advertising and entertainment content. As with other studios, the deal will give Disney an outlet to show audiences behind-the-scenes and other footage from Disney’s slate of theatrical releases.
FirstLook currently has a [...]
Meet the Browns theatrical poster
Just when I think the campaign for Meet the Browns can’t get any worse it manages to exceed my expectations.
Case in point is this new poster for the movie. The sickeningly lovey-dovey pair at the top (including Angela Bassett, who has been put in a dress that makes her look pregnant) and the kooky family [...]
