Dark Matter poster

darkmatterposter.jpgThis poster for Dark Matter is easily identifiable as an independent film, or at least one that’s being marketed that way, for a couple of reasons at least.

For one it’s that dark, heavy blue that would never be used for a studio film since it too strongly invokes a sense of depression. For another thing it’s got the little Cannes Film Festival winner symbol, something that is going to speak primarily to the more discerning audience. Finally, it’s got an unknown foreigner at the forefront of the image. That’s not a knock or anything, just a statement of fact.

But it’s a good enough poster. There’s nothing really exciting about it, but it does fairly effectively convey that there’s some sort of relationship drama between the three characters presented here that will unfold in the film.
