More details on the Indiana Jones 4 trailer premiere
The official Indiana Jones website has been updated with a Paramount press release that more clearly fleshes out where and when the teaser trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will premiere. Here’s what the site has to say:
The trailer will are exclusively on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that morning (2/14) between 8 AM and 9 AM. Immediately thereafter, the footage will be available at the film’s official site IndianaJones.com, Yahoo Movies and in motion picture theaters.
Now that makes more sense. Based on the original report I had chastised Paramount for taking the “put in theaters and then we’ll release it online three or four days later” approach but that’s not at all the case and I’m glad to see it.
I’m kind of expecting Yahoo Movies and the official site to be severely crippled by the traffic they’re sure to experience so I hope the companies have made preparations.
I also like how they’ve teased the spot as appearing somewhere in that hour of “GMA” programming. I can imagine that was the result of some negotiating during the ad buying process, with some sort of agreement that Paramount would do what it could to drive viewers to the show. Obviously taking the cable-company “here’s a window of time we might appear” approach is what was decided upon. “GMA” gets some additional viewers and everyone, more or less, is happy.

So how does your anticipation for this trailer compare to others? For me it’s like waiting for the first of the Star Wars prequels.
