Super Bowl XLII: Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian commercial
Here’s the Super Bowl TV spot for Disney’s Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian that you can now view on the movie’s official website.
Like many of the commercials tonight it’s essentially a truncated version of the previous trailer and, considering the first movie in the Narnia series went out of its way to be family friendly, this one is pretty dark. It’s all charging armies of nasty looking creatures and the sense that the mythical land of Narnia has become a very unpleasant place in the absence of the four British children.
It’s fast-moving and action-packed, though, seemingly an attempt to move beyond the kiddie audience that was courted the first time through and more openly toward older folks who might be jonesing for a Lord of the Rings fix. I’m not saying it’s up to that level since it is still about the kids and the new young prince, but that seems to be the direction Disney is trying to move in.
