Buy Will Ferrell’s ‘Love Me Sexy’

As if just having the video on YouTube wasn’t enough, you can now buy “Love Me Sexy,” the song sung by Will Ferrell – in character as Jackie Moon – as part of the marketing campaign for Semi-Pro.

The song is available as a digital download through iTunes (I checked, it’s there) and other online outlets according to this release. It will also be on the movie’s official soundtrack.

This is a fun idea – and the cover to the single is killer – but I think making this a paid download was kind of a mistake. If this had been free I think it would have been downloaded by everyone and really gone a lot farther to get people talking about and involved in the movie. I know they’ve got to make a buck here and there but the promotional value of a free song I think greatly outweighs the monetary value of making people buy it.
