Shutter trailer
MTV has the exclusive trailer for Shutter, yet another movie based on a Japanese horror flick involving weird unseen things. This one stars Joshua Jackson, obviously trying as hard as he can to not be Pacey from “Dawson’s Creek” as a photographer who discovers he can see ghosts in the pictures he takes. Even more disturbing is that the people who have ghosts appear in pictures along with them invariably seem to die shortly after the picture was taken.
The trailer hits most of the same beats as others in this genre and it’s trying to appeal to the same crowd. It’s a little more graphic…ummm…sexually than some of those, but that comes mainly from the scene where Jackson appears to be having sex with something that has worms where it’s back should be. I’m not judging – just saying. It doesn’t work for me, but none of these films have been attractive to me in the least bit. If this is your cup of tea, though, it might work better for you.
