Captain Abu Raed trailer

Christopher at Spout points to the trailer for Captain Abu Raed, a movie about an old man who may or may not have actually been an airforce pilot in Jordan but who certainly has built that up as the foundation of his character.

Amid all the trailers that try to oversell themselves this is one of those that stands out for how quite and gentle it is. We get glimpses of the major characters, the conflicts and attitudes that will shape the story and how this old man is in the center of it all.

Honestly, this is one of those movies that would benefit the most from a broken window release pattern that includes digital downloads. I really want to see this movie right now, but I’ll never remember it in a month, much less the many months before it comes out on DVD.
