Have Carmen Electra call your friends for Meet the Spartans

The latest movie to utilize the “send a personalized phone call to your friends” tactic as part of its marketing campaign is the spoof comedy Meet the Spartans. According to Rick Mathieson, visitors to Carmenhasacrushonyou.com can not only view a video of Electra but also hen enter the phone numbers of their friends to have a call from her placed to them. They can also subsequently send the video, albeit an altered version that’s customized with their name inserted into the story she’s telling, to those friends.

I agree with Rick that this is a fun promotion because it’s a little more personalized than even previous efforts. It’s along the same lines as similar phone-based deals for Transformers, but making the recipient part of a video as well as the phone call is an added step that could help it gain some traction.
