The Life Before Her Eyes trailer

lifebeforehereyespic.jpgThis trailer for The Life Before Her Eyes, about a woman still struggling to overcome her guilt about surviving a Columbine-like tragedy when she was in high school, is very visually arresting. I’ll give it that. If you’re going to be lured in by lots of shots of young women in bikinis sitting alongside and diving into swimming pools then this will work for you since there’s lots of that.

What there isn’t a lot of is actually story presentation. There are two shots in the 1:31 spot that present a glimpse that any sort of tragedy has entered into the woman’s life. The rest of the spot is filled with said bikini-clad women or scenes that sell the movie as the main character’s struggle to accept that she never left the town she grew up in. If the shooting that impacted her life so much is going to be a main plot point in the movie then this trailer completely leaves that out. [HT to and pic via Alex]
