Day Zero trailer
The trailer for Day Zero, a story set in the near future about three friends preparing to leave due to the recently reinstituted draft, is quite moving. It sells the movie not so much as a political message - something that’s come to be seen as box-office poison lately - but as a philosophical discussion.
The three friends aren’t so much opposed to the war as they are opposed to the idea of losing each other. There’s some footage shown with people taking anti-violence or pro-responsibility points of view, but the main point of the film is shown to be just not abandoning friends.
While it seems to be a small film that could help it find more of an audience, assuming the distribution and marketing supports it.
