Meet the Spartans TV spot
Even worse than the trailer is the TV spot that I saw last night for Meet the Spartans. It’s basically just a bit more of the 300 spoof, with the guy kicking various pop culture folks – mostly the ones that show up on the poster – into the Pit of Death. There’s also a “Deal or No Deal” gag and a Donald Trump toupee joke for good measure. It’s really, really bad, so of course I’m embedding it below in order to spread the misery.
It’s too easy to lump these movies in with Airplane and such, but those were spoofs of very specific genres and even particular movies. These are just random word-association type things that are thrown together haphazardly.

This second spot is not much better, adding a few scenes and rearranging others.

I laugh so hard everytime the TV spots come on, its ridiculous. I simply can’t wait for this movie to come out, it’s gonna be a riot, that’s for sure.
