You Don’t Mess With the Zohan poster
Here’s the first poster for Adam Sandler’s You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, his quest to grow beyond his man-child character and into the kinds of roles Will Ferrell is creating for himself.
I think they might have gone a tad overboard with the allusion to mid-80’s action movies. But you can’t say the skimped on the branding, with Sandler bursting out from what I can only assume to be a wall like you’d find around downtown construction sites that has been plastered with posters for the movie.
Does that qualify as meta?
Anyway, it basically relies on the idea that Sandler is just so outrageous with that hair and that goatee, a joke that’s likely to be funny the first three times it’s played out but not the last 978.
