Marketing costs contribute to Hollywood’s spending problems
MMM reader Andrew sent me this Guardian article on the out-of-control spending Hollywood studios are engaged in. The key graf for here is this one:
In addition, the studios are involved in an arms race in marketing costs. The biggest marketing budget last year was $53.5m for Cars, according to TNS Media Intelligence, followed by $45.5m for Superman Returns.
Holy Hannah! $53M for Cars’ marketing budget. Yowzza.
