LAT on the year’s best online movie marketing efforts

debnetburnsimpsons.JPGThe Los Angeles Times has a photo slide show up chronicling what they believe to be the best online movie marketing efforts of the year. It’s a solid list, mentioning the “Create Your Own Simpsons” features, the Lions For Lambs YouTube contest and a bunch, including Evan Almighty’s overall site, which is cited as being kid-friendly. I can’t argue with anything on the list.

If there’s one thing I’d add, though, it would be widgets and embeddable features. Disney, Fox and other studios all came around on this issue in a big way in 2007 and started offering either stand-alone widgets or at least let people grab code to put trailers on their own websites.

(I sense a longer piece brewing…hmmmm)

Anyway, go check out the slide show. The photo that I used here - and which is featured in the story - is the Simpsons avatar for writer Deborah Netburn, by the way. I have it on reliable authority that this looks exactly like her. :)
