New Line has launched the official site for Michael Gondry’s new flick Be Kind Rewind, starring Jack Black and Mos Def. The site starts off normally enough, with an image that parodies something from one of the movies the pair accidentally erase and then remake. But then when you enter the site it acts like it’s erasing the internet, which is then remade using a mouse pointer on a string, a “Google” that looks like it’s made out of Silly Puddy and a few other features. There’s even search that leads to some other just pointless fun content.
There’s also a feature that allows you to upload a picture of yourself into a movie poster, what they call “sweding.” That’s apparently what it’s referred to as in the film and for once this sort of feature, which has become pervasive ever since The Wedding Crashers, is actually contextual in relation to the film it’s supporting.
