Cloverfield ads up and running

cloverfieldtrailersmaller.JPGThe Project Cloverfield guys catch the first – at least that I’ve seen – Cloverfield online ad that’s been released into the wild. The ad uses the poster art of the Statue of Liberty sans head and I would presume points to the movie’s new official website.

As I’ve stated before, the release of the latest trailer marked a turning point in the campaign. I would expect future efforts to be less loose and fun and more traditional in nature with a smattering of the previous tone just to keep people interested. When things actually need to have their costs justified corporations tend to feel a lot less inclined to take risks.
