New Cloverfield trailer is out, but I won’t be covering it yet
I know that a few of the other movie sites on the Interwebs have been posting their synopses or recaps of the new trailer for Cloverfield that is debuting this Friday in front of Beowulf but which has already been leaked online. As is my policy I’m not going to discuss or link to that trailer since I do not in any way want to encourage people to be illegally videotaping stuff in theaters. I’ll wait until it’s been officially released by Paramount, thank you very much. I don’t like it when people leak stuff I’m working on and don’t want to do that to anyone else.
That being said, I think Paramount now has two choices. 1) Do nothing, let the leaked footage be what people see for 24 hours or so and just deal with it or 2) Decide that since it’s out there they may as well put a high-quality version on Apple, YouTube and other video sites so that the trailer is seen in the best manner possible.
I know what I’d do, but that’s me.

I’m pretty positive these homemade shots, will only be part of the movie. The rest will be the battle against the monster somewhere else or even still in the city. Someone finds the camera after the fact, which is blatently obvious, and then the movie will continue after we watch the video.
