Wanted trailer
I have to admit this trailer for Wanted is wicked cool. The movie is based on a comic book about an ordinary guy who is plucked from his life and indoctrinated into a fraternity (that word gets mentioned about five times in the spot) of assassins. There he learns of their secret, society-maintaining mission and learns how to do cool stuff like make bullets bend in mid-flight.
The trailer is full of very neat visuals but the exposition by Morgan Freeman and some of the hints dropped in the (limited) dialogue of the actor makes me think there is a real story in there somewhere, that this isn’t just another variation on The Matrix or whatever. It’s good at sucking you in to caring about the main character by providing a look at his life before and after he discovers who he’s really meant to be. Nicely put together and I think the people going to see American Gangster this weekend, where the trailer will premiere on the big-screen, will lap it up.
