Trailer Trash gets a release date

Remember how director Eli Roth was among those who contributed a fake trailer for inclusion in the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino double-feature Grindhouse? Well it seems like Roth had fun making it because he’s made a bunch more.

The fake trailers he’s created will be packaged together and released theatrically as Trailer Trash. Roth says the feature will be comedic in tone and contain sort an expanded version of the trailer for Thanksgiving, which was his Grindhouse contribution. The movie - such as it is - will be released August 22nd.

I’m going to refrain from getting into the “torture porn” debate since I think it’s a non-starter and since I’ve not seen any of the movies in that category. But I’ve no desire to see them and I’ll leave it at that. Despite that, I’m at least interested from a certain point of view in a whole movie of fake trailers, even if I think the joke isn’t solid enough to be stretched to feature length. But we’ll see.

Ugh. There’s something so annoying about Eli Roth. Maybe it’s the fact that his movies suck. Oh yes, that is it.
