Wristcutters: A Love Story trailer
Wow.
I had this notion of Wristcutters: A Love Story being a really, really stupid, one-joke movie designed just to honk people off. But now I’ve watched the trailer and my mind is completely changed.
The movie is about a group of people, all of whom are dead but still walking the Earth, who set out to find the girlfriend of one of them, a girlfriend who killed herself shortly after he did. It’s essentially a road-trip movie with wacky characters (some of whom are played by Tom Waits and Will Arnett. Yeah, you read that right) but looks quite darkly funny based on the trailer.

I love this movie. It’s definitely not a one-joker–honestly, it may be a bit more morose than that trailer gives away–but it’s a really great indie romantic comedy. The kind of movie that *should* be getting buzz at Sundance, but seemingly doesn’t anymore.
