Jason Reitman judging a YouTube contest
Director Jason Reitman is judging a YouTube contest looking for short-film submissions, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The contest is sponsored by Hewlett-Packard and is looking for films that show a character dealing with a situation above their maturity level. That makes it very much part of the promotional push for Reitman’s next directorial effort Juno, about a high school girl who becomes pregnant and decides to give the baby up for adoption.
The winner of the contest will get taken to some sort of major film festival and some face time with Fox Searchlight executives. They also get a $5,000 debit card and their film will be featured on the YouTube homepage.
Submissions are due before November 9th.
