Darjeeling Limited display at Louis Vuitton

Fox Searchlight got a Louis Vuitton store in New York City to decorate one of its windows with a poster for The Darjeeling Limited as well as luggage like that which appears in the movie. I think it’s really cool that Searchlight so consistently thinks offline like this. The studio has done similar promotions with retailers for the campaigns for Waitress and Little Miss Sunshine.

In other Darjeeling news, the studio sent Jeffrey Wells a movie-branded travel case with a toothbrush, soap and other toiletries inside. I want one of these so bad I can taste it.

The movie’s official website has also gotten upgraded quite a bit, with new content and slick new video intro. The standard site content comes on top (literally) of the usual social-media feeds and links that accompany Searchlight sites. [via RPM]

Finally, “Hotel Chevalier,” the short film that director Wes Anderson shot to act as a sort of introduction to the feature, will debut in Apple stores tomorrow (Tuesday) and then be available as a free download through iTunes. The short has been playing in front of the movie at festival screenings and might be added back after a few weeks of the movie playing in theaters before finally winding up on the DVD.
