Grace is Gone trailer
While I might have had issues with the poster, this trailer for the John Cusack-starring Grace is Gone is one of the best I’ve seen in quite a while. It’s moving, it’s funny and it showcases what might be one of Cusack’s best performances in recent years if the footage in this spot is any indication.
Cusack plays a man whose wife, a soldier in the army, has been deployed to Iraq. When she’s killed in action he has to figure out how to be a dad to their two young daughters, something he’s never really figured out how to do before. The trailer lays out this plot quite nicely but never devolves into (more than a little) schmaltz, opting instead for how a man has to go on living after losing his partner in that journey.
