The Temple of Doom’s multi-layered poster
Alan has a great analysis of the poster for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He looks at how all the graphic elements, from color scheme to the pose Indy is in and everything in-between create the perception that this sequel – actually a prequel to Raiders – is going to be much different in tone to the first movie.
In the midst of his look at the poster Alan also provides one of the most well-rounded defenses of Temple of Doom that I’ve read. It’s a movie I always hear ragged on but I enjoy it each time I pop it in. He points out that the one-sheet sets up some of the differences in the Indiana Jones character the movie would make more clear, something I hadn’t really thought of before.

Thanks for the link, Chris, and for the simply delightful “I [heart] you” pic of Mola Ram. Kind of puts that scene into an entirely different perspective, doesn’t it?
