Grace is Gone poster
The movie Grace is Gone, starring John Cusack, is about a man who can’t figure out how to tell his daughters that their mother, his wife, has died serving in the army in Iraq. The poster that’s just been released conveys absolutely none of that. Instead it brings to mind movies like The Red Balloon or something more whimsical. The image of Cusack with his hands in his pockets and staring at a floating balloon is so random. I don’t know if this is part of some pivotal scene in the movie but it’s not a great image for the marketing campaign to build on. [via CINE]

Hey Chris… think I may have to disagree with you partly on this one. Granted the image may seem a little generic but given the plotline and most likely the target audience of females 25-49, I don’t think a strong image is needed as much as a poster which shows John Cusack conveying emotion which is probably one of the main appealing points of this movie.
