New poster and trailer for The Kingdon

Check out this new Jamie Foxx-centric trailer for the drama-intrigue flick The Kingdom. It hits many of the same notes as previous trailers but they’re rearranged and I think makes it seem like much more of a straight action movie. The political stuff that was the focus of the previous trailer is still there but is used as setup and not part of the movie’s driving plot. It still works, just for different reasons. It also features a bit more of an armed and dangerous Jennifer Garner, which is always a good thing.

The shift in focus toward both the guns and Foxx is evident in this new poster as well. It does a really good job of setting up the setting and plot of the film, especially if you’re trying to sell it as an action flick. I really like for some reason the halving of the one-sheet, relegating the picture to the top half while the bottom is just the title treatment. It just really works on this one.
