Dubious claims made to promote Superman Returns DVD
A post on the Superman Homepage reads as follows:
After a series of blogs posted, and a letter sent to the DAILY PLANET Building, authorities have linked LEX LUTHOR to “LEX Returns” tags that are popping up all over cyberspace. Although the purpose behind these tags is still a mystery, there is no doubt that LUTHOR is targeting the internet.
Now there are two things that you should note about this: 1) That URL actually redirects to a MySpace page that is obviously a promotion for the DVD release of Superman Returns. I say obvious because the “About” section mentions a Nov. 28th date for us to watch out for and 2) There aren’t any “lex returns” tags out there, at least not according to Technorati.
So why did 1) The false claim get made and 2) The Superman Homepage go along with it without any soft of commentary? I get that they’re a devoted fansite but on some level it’s the job of citizen enthusiasts to call BS on things like this.
