Stranger Than Fiction trailer
I watched the trailer for Stranger Than Fiction last night and then spent the next roughly 9 hours (including sleep time) trying to figure out what the plot reminded me of. Will Ferrell plays a man who all of a sudden starts hearing a woman’s voice narrating his life. Emma Thompson (sigh) plays a writer who’s creating a novel with Ferrell’s character, only she doesn’t know he’s real and that her plans for him are affecting his life. It’s all very meta.
So anyway, I finally figured out what it reminded me of: Delirious with John Candy. Candy plays a writer who, after falling down, finds himself as a character in world of the soap opera he writes for. He eventually finds he can influence events by sitting down at his typewriter and writing something.
Not exactly the same but close enough that it had me scratching my head and trying to figure out what it was I was thinking of.
