Dick head missing from publicity tour
Someone a while ago built a life-size robot of author Phillip K. Dick. The robot had been used for various panels and such since Dick himself has been dead for 14 years. Warner Bros. had even planned to use the robot on the publicity tour for A Scanner Darkly until his head went missing.
Oops.

The Nativity Story website and teaser trailer
ComingSoon sends us to the newly launched official website for The Nativity Story. Not much there right now but you can view a teaser trailer that is very good at teasing, if enormously predictable.

Bender helps Al Gore promote An Inconvenient Truth
I just don’t know what to do with this. Bender from “Futurama” helps Al Gore promote An Inconvenient Truth. The best part is that this appears to be an official effort.
LATER UPDATE: Someone from Paramount Vantage (leave it to me to be behind in my brand name awareness) contacted me and let me know this [...]
Water ad ill-placed
Gawker has a screenshot of an ill-placed ad for Water. The ad is a sponsorship of the New York Times’ online tools (print, email, etc) but unfortunately appears next to a story about the massive flooding in the northeast. Oops.

Movie Marketing Madness: The Devil Wears Prada
This is not the sort of movie I am usually interested in. I just want to state that clearly and unquestioningly right there at the beginning. Movies that star the chick from The Princess Diaries (both installments) and are all about fashion are not exactly what you’d call right up my alley. So imagine my [...]
Saw 3 teaser poster
More up close and personal shots of medical procedures with this newly released teaser poster for Saw III. Scraping teeth and other things like that cause my mouth to hurt so if the goal of the poster was to make sure I never looked at it again, than mission accomplished.

The Guardian trailer
Watch the trailer for The Guardian and, conveniently, you don’t have to actually watch the movie. It’s all there. The entire plot. Nothing left for the paying audience.

New Lady in the Water trailer
Let me state in no uncertain terms that I think Lady in the Water is going to blow. That feeling is only increased by the new trailer for the film. It spends the first third just making sure everyone knows it’s a M. Night Shamalan movie and then just gets weird.

Edmond trailer
“Taken alone, they are Jerry Palter, Alan Barrows and Mark Shubb… but when you put them all together, they spell “absolutely fantastic.” - A Mighty Wind
This quote from the Christopher Guest comedy came to mind when I watched the trailer for Edmond, starring William H. Macy. That’s because not only do you have Macy but [...]
The Last Kiss trailer
As if I wasn’t already planning on seeing it, Paramount has to go and release a really cool trailer for Zach Braff’s upcoming The Last Kiss. The synopsis might not seem that original - 30-year old guy struggling with the fact that he’s now expected to be an adult and settle down - the execution [...]
Marie Antoinette trailer
This real trailer (as opposed to the clip show we first got) for Marie Antoinette seems pretty good. It looks, smells and feels more like a real trailer in that we get an actual story outline as opposed to just shots of pretty costumes. Marie is married off to the king of France to cement [...]
Brands on MySpace
While by no means complete, the folks at Organic have put together a pretty good beginners list of brands with MySpace profiles. They got X-Men 3 and some others in terms of movies. What’s really interesting is that they also list the number of “friends” each profile has.

Movie Marketing Madness: Superman Returns
The success or failure of Superman Returns could determine the future of the comics adaptations as a whole. I’m dead serious about this. The movie reportedly cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $250 million to produce (I remember the headlines when T2 cost $100 million. Doesn’t that seem quaint now?) and [...]
Spider-man 3 teaser trailer
Sony has finally released the teaser trailer for Spider-Man 3. Believe me if you don’t want to be spoiled by plot points don’t watch it. If you do, prepare for serious fan-boy geeking out. It’s a great trailer that is paced nicely to keep you on the edge of your seats. There’s very little dialogue [...]
