OMG it’s old people!
Yes, Hollywood marketing people have a problem when it comes to acknowledging that people over 45 exist. This short sightedness is evidenced during both the production and marketing phase of movie making. I wish it were different, and if more people like those featured in this story keep fighting to make their movies things just might.
There are some great examples in the story of some recent movies that have been made for and marketed to older folks but we can’t just count movies with wrinkly people in them. What about movies like A History of Violence and Munich that are geared toward simply adults? The continued success of movies like that will affect more change than a thousand Judi Dench films.
