The Great New Wonderful trailer
Moviefone has the trailer for the ensemble dramedy The Great New Wonderful. Looks like a fantastic little movie that hopefully doesn’t try to be more than it is - an actor’s showcase.

Pepsi partners with WB for Superman Returns promo
Last week I mentioned that Pepsi had launched a branded homepage on Yahoo! called The Daily Planet to promote Superman Returns. That seems to be part of a larger promotional deal. Pepsi will hype the new Superman movie both on cans - by putting the “S” shield on cans - but also through [...]
Superman Returns’ new theatrical trailer
Yahoo Movies has the new theatrical trailer that debuted this past weekend for Superman Returns. There’s a lot more action in this one with a whole bunch of new footage, including most it seems of Lex Luthor’s evil scheme. In fact this one pretty much turns over the fate of the movie [...]
Comic tie-ins help market their movie adaptations
The Beat points to a post dealing with comic trade paperbooks and how they play into the movie marketing mix. The actual point from the MacGuffin blog is how movie adaptations help source-book sales, but it works the other way, too. Successful movies don’t always mean successful comic sales unless you’re talking about [...]
More Netflix ads
HackingNetflix has a couple scans of Netflix envelopes promoting new movies. The first is for Over the Hedge - actually the website where you can play Over the Hedge games online. The second for the Wayan’s brothers-starring Little Man.

Snakes on a Plane official website
New Line has launched - as more than just a placeholder - the official website for Snakes on a Plane. I’ve gone on record as stating that New Line would be well served to just turn this over to the fans and not do much more than make the site an aggregator for the [...]
Break-Up/Mastercard online ad
Mastercard is running an online ad that promotes Universal’s The Break-Up. The ad encourages people to go to Mastercard’s homepage to view clips from the movie. I really like, though, the copy point “Not arguing with him about what to see: Priceless.” That plays up the cross-gender appeal this movie has very [...]
Cannes posters
JoBlo has a couple of posts collecting some of the best posters spotten in and around the Cannes Festival that just wrapped up. I can’t sum up all of the movies that get spotlit but suffice it to say there are some good and some bad and then there’s Rambo 4. Check out [...]
X-Men’s MySpace budget
According to the Wall Street Journal (via MediaPost) 20th Century Fox spent eight percent of its marketing budget for X-Men: The Last Stand on the movie’s MySpace page alone. That’s quite a bit, considering less than two percent of the budget for X2 went online in any way, shape or form.

Snakes on a ((_&%$####)___^^ Plane and CGC
I join the chorus of voices who have written about the consumer-generated content that has heretofore been driving the buzz behind Snakes on a Plane. It’s all in my iMediaConnection column.
The Omen remake takes advantage of unique date
20th Century Fox is making the unique move of opening a movie on a Tuesday, as opposed to the usual Friday or even Wednesday or Thursday, when some of the bigger movies sometimes open to inflate their weekend numbers. The reason for the odd opening is that the movie is the remake of The [...]

Click online ad
Check out the incredibly lame online ad for the Adam Sandler movie Click. Plays up the idea that Sandler is a horny schmuck, which is what most of his reputation is based on.

An Inconvenient Truth web conference
Britt Bravo (an excellent name - sounds like it was pulled right from a 1940’s comic book) has word of an online conference being put together by Participant Productions to promote An Inconvenient Truth. Looks like good stuff.
