Stick It trailer
The trailer for Stick It lets you know that the movie is everything you would expect it to be. We’re given the backstory for Haley, a tomboyish athlete who apparently dropped out of a gymnastics competition just as her team was competing for some sort of championship. She’s gotten into trouble with the law and is - and here’s where you might want to hold on to something - sentenced by the judge to rejoin her former team (or some such nonsense. My eyes started bleeding at some point.) Jeff Bridges plays the firm yet loving coach tasked with getting her back into shape and making her and her teammates get along. Everyone’s got attitude and the boys are all horny but this is a Disney flick so it’s likely there’s not much beyond some kissing in the hallways.
Does it look bad? Yeah, but I’m not a 15 year old girl and that’s who the audience is going to be and they’re making that perfectly obvious so it’s hard to fault it too hard for doing its job. Success means appealing to your target audience not a wise-ass blogger so I guess this can be considered a good trailer.
I will now go stab my eardrums with a screwdriver.
