Hoodwinked posters
Check out these three new character-centric posters for Hoodwinked. Do they work? That’s debatable but if Anne Hathaway’s in the movie we can all spend our time wondering if she’ll take her top off.
More Chicken Little stuff
See, this is what happens when a studio contacts me here at MMM, I pimp their stuff (when I get to it).
Anyway, there’s some more cool virtual swag available for Chicken Little.
First, watch the title character bust a move

Chicken Little desktop application
There’s a very cool desktop application now available to promote Disney’s Chicken Little which you can download here. The app only works on PCs now and now Macs but here’s the feature list:
Dancing Characters – Chicken Little, Abby, Runt, Fish, and Morcupine dance on your desktop!
Breaking News – Watch new footage and clips and [...]
Prime trailer misrepresents movie
Jeffrey Wells says the marketing department at Universal Studios has, in his words, “lied” to the public. The trailer, Wells accurately says, portrays the movie as sitcom-y, with lots of awkward moments and seeming comedy. It basically makes the movie look like a romantic comedy creme puff that’s heavy with puffiness.
The movie [...]
Turning game players into moviegoers
Interesting article here from The Hollywood Reporter about the marketing challenges presented by Doom. On the one hand gamers are incredibly loyal and are the built-in audience for game adaptations. On the other hand if you do it poorly, or in a way that ignores the game’s mythology in an effort to draw [...]
Controversy over 50 Cent movie billboard
Apparently a group of concerned citizens is, umm, concerned about a billboard for the upcoming biography of 50 Cent, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. They feel that the billboard, with an image of the rapper holding a microphone in one hand and a gun in the other, promotes violence. In particular the group [...]
Creating passionate movie users
Joseph Jaffe has a great idea for movie studios, all of whom seem to be reconsidering their traditional advertising efforts. Run ads containing reviews from actual people, not just critics from the rarified air of journalism.
While there is some (correct) criticism of the idea from commenters I think Jaffe’s got the seeds of an [...]
Left Behind sequel taps into church marketing
Sony, the company behind the Left Behind movies, is looking to tap into the power of evangelicals to help propel sales of the latest direct-to-video sequel. Last weekend they screened the movie at 3,200 churches around the country and put the reach of those screenings at somewhere around 1.8 million people.
As much as [...]
Final Destination 3 poster
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Sorry, here’s the new one sheet for Final Destination 3.
New New World poster
Trust me. For as epic and sweeping as The New World looks, a feeling continued by this new one-sheet, it will disappoint as soon as Colin Farrell opens his mouth. The visuals seem so stunning and capable of telling the story in their own right, that whatever dialogue there is will just seem [...]
Aeon Flux site relaunched
Now with new and improved (read: any) content, Paramount has put up the full official site for Aeon Flux. There are still a few areas that need to be built out a bit. It’ll be interesting to see if they get this completed before the Dec. 4 opening date. Anyone want to [...]
Jarhead official site
Check out the newly-launched official site for Jarhead. It’s suprisingly fully-stocked, but then again the movie does open in a week and a half and they just launched it.
Munich poster
Let’s hope the good Spielberg (he of Schindler’s List, Minority Report and Jaws) shows up for Munich. You can view the poster for this drama here. I love how the image is more or less consigned to the bottom half of the poster and how it’s almost - but not quite - monochromatic.
Moviefone’s Coming Attractions: 10/27/05
For the highly (not really) anticipated sequel Legend of Zorro, there is both an Unscripted program as well as a clip from the flick.
Check out this clip from the new PG-13 rated Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire.
If you’re looking forward to Saw II (that’s you Cregar) you may be interested in this exclusive [...]
Movie Marketing Madness: The Weather Man
I was feeling particularly nasty when writing this week’s FT column. For a while I felt kind of bad but then I decided I didn’t give a fuck since the campaign really doesn’t work.
