King Kond official website & trailer
Universal has launched the official website for King Kong. Also, today marks the day of the first trailer, debuing for some corporate reason on Volkswagon’s website. The trailer also appeared on NBC, which I had forgotten until my TiVo asked if I wanted to record it, which of course I did.
The site is pretty fully stocked already and has the potential, I feel, to be among the best movie sites to date. The trailer just rocks. Jack Black looks like he’s channeling all that creativity and energy he brings to his best comedic performances into something more dramatic, or at least more restrained. That’s a good thing since the wild, crazy Black could have ruined this movie.
It’s hard not to view the story of a director doing anything to make the movie he wants to make regardless of any interference from outsiders as a form of public therapy on the part of director Peter Jackson. Anyway, check them both out.
